The Scottish Unionist Party is the only
mainstream party, which stands unashamedly and resolutely for the
Union. Scotland's place in the United Kingdom can only be maintained by
proud and patriotic Scots - we have to do it ourselves. We have a pride
and appreciation of Scotland's history and culture. We are not prepared
to abandon that heritage to a twisted separatism. The SUP believes that
there should be no compromise or appeasement with Nationalists of any
description.
SCOTTISH UNIONISTS STAND FOR:
An unashamed and resolute defence of Scotland's place within the Union.
Replacing the extremely expensive, over bureaucratic and ineffective Scottish Parliament with genuine devolution to Scotland's local authorities.
Integrated schooling and an end to the costly and divisive system of religious apartheid which segregates our children - educate them together, you know it makes sense.
Fewer managers - more doctors and nurses - better hygeine standards and an end to hospital acquired infections.
Adequate pensions, better support services for the elderly and a halt to family homes being sold to pay for care in later life. Lift the tax burden on all state and work pensions.
A freeze on immigration to allow time for a genuine debate on the issues in order to dispel the myths and misconceptions surrounding migration leading to the introduction of a fair and sustainable immigration policy.
Crime - Zero tolerance for criminals, a greater police presence on the streets. A total crackdown on so called minor crimes i.e. vandalism, graffiti, car break-ins etc, allof which reduce the quality of life. Youth crime, if not taken seriously will ultimately lead to more serious offences.
